First post, woohoo!

There are many blogs out on the internet that tell you how fantastic it is to work for the Disney company, this my friend is not going to be one of them. When people think about working for the Walt Disney Company they think that it is a great place to work, what I’m doing with this blog is shining some light on what really happens when you work with Disney. I’m going to tell the truth on this blog, no sugar coating so prepare yourselves!

I bet when you think about working for Disney you think it will be perfect and magical. There are some perks to working with Disney, but there are also many downsides.

Many people who work with Disney start on the Disney College Program, which is where you come and work for Disney for 4-6 months. The college program is kind of a joke, you get paid minimum wage, no holiday pay and no paid sick time or vacation. The college program is basically free labor for the Walt Disney Company.  When on the college program, expect to get long crappy hours and have the full time and part time cast members be hesitant with trusting you to do your job.

The Disney College Program includes housing, woohoo :/. Rent is taken out of your already small check each week. The amount that gets taken out of your pay check normally is more that what you would pay if you didn’t live in the Disney housing. In the College Program apartments you can have between 2-7 other roommates, and y’all have to share a room, but if you live outside Disney housing, you could have your own room if you find the right place. I think Disney housing causes more drama than its worth, if you have a car just find roommates in a house or apartment that is not the College Program apartments.
